Amsterdam

It’s been a long time coming on this path through the dark
The rain’s been falling and I’m no longer in the park
But then I see you smile at me, something stirs I thought was gone
When the storm finally breaks it’s you I see in the dawn
The Waiting sometimes hurts, anticipation makes it worse
. I do the best I can then I head back to Amsterdam
There it is that magic tugging at the chain around my heart
I feel the passion longing, I miss you when we’re apart
The sickness called loneliness still visits from time to time
Yearning for companionship sometimes haunts my troubled mind
The Waiting sometimes hurts, anticipation makes it worse
I hear the flute call of the Pan then I head back to Amsterdam
Holding hands holding hearts sharing the dream
. I still wonder what it all means
Seeking a touch of happiness, I strayed from the path
Is it so wrong to want some tenderness, the hunger can be so vast
Are you my sister or a lover girl? As we stroll the road of time
So much karma to work out makes it hard to walk the line
The Waiting sometimes hurts, anticipation makes it worse
I run as fast as I can then I head back to Amsterdam
