From: On Letting Go
The man came to the Guru and he said,
“Can you please tell me sir how life should be led?”
The Guru smiled, he'd been through this before.
He said, “Oh yes I'll tell you, but please first clean the floors.”
The man toiled and said, "Your floors are clean and white.
“Can you please tell me how I might excape my plight?”
The Guru thought, then he said with a smile,
“Go sit in the corner, close your eyes for awhile.”
"After three weeks of sitting there he cried,
"I've got important things to do, and I think that you've lied!
"You don't know any more than I,
“And it's about time that we said goodbye!”
The Guru exclaimed, "Life is but a dream.
“Things aren't ever exactly as they seem.
"Life is easy, so why make it hard?
“Just let go and things won't get marred.”
The man shook his fist and cried, "Why you babbling fool!
“Everybody knows that life must have rules!”
The Guru grinned as he watched him climb away
Cuz' he knew that he'd be back again one day.
